The Most Awesome Images Found on Social Media: 3/31-4/4

We’ve reached the end of another week – thank god! – which means it’s time to once again take a look at the coolest, weirdest and/or most awesome images that I’ve stumbled across on social media this past week.

So let’s get right to it, shall we?!

Daryl Dixon

This past Tuesday was of course April Fools’ Day, which is always a fun – and frustrating – day on the internet. One of the best pranks of the year came courtesy of the official Walking Dead website, who unveiled this faux cover for an upcoming issue of the comic series, which fooled fans into thinking that TV show character Daryl Dixon was headed into the world of the comics. Unfortunately, it’s just a cleverly doctored up drawing of a character from the comics, and there are no plans for Daryl to actually show up within the pages of any future issues. Sorry, NorManiacs!

The Walking Dead

Speaking of The Walking Dead, this adorable bit of forced cosplay popped up on my Facebook feed earlier in the week, and since it’s the kind of image that’s impossible to look at and not smile, I figured I had to share it. Nothing says good parenting like dressing your toddler up as a racist dude with a knife hand… right?!

No seriously. These parents are awesome. And this picture makes me want to have a kid.

Randy Savage

This Sunday is WrestleMania 30, WWE’s annual sports entertainment extravaganza, which is always cause for excitement – even if the current product isn’t so great. Clothing company Electric Zombie always gets in on the WrestleMania fun and this year is no exception, as they just launched a whole line of horror-inspired wrestling shirts and even these two ‘Deadies,’ depicting undead versions of Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage. Old school WWF fans will recognize these as being inspired by the ‘Wrestling Buddies’ of the 90s, and you can grab yours, and see all of Electric Zombies’s WrestleMania offerings, in their online shop!

Re-Animator

A couple months back I wrote up a post here on Halloween Love about an upcoming Herbert West action figure from a toy company called Amok Time, and this week they unveiled a couple sneak peeks at the accessories that will come with the figure, including Dr. Hill’s flying severed head, from Bride of Re-Animator. See a sneak peek at another exciting accessory over on Amok Time’s Facebook page!

Hannibal Masks

If you’re a fan of NBC’s Hannibal, then you absolutely need to follow show creator Bryan Fuller on Twitter, as he regularly tweets out behind the scenes pictures and info about the show. This here is a collection of concepts for the Silence of the Lambs-inspired mask that Will Graham was strapped into on last week’s episode, which show alternate designs that were considered. Love to see this kind of stuff, and I love that social media has given us access to so many things we never would’ve otherwise seen.

Scream Factory

Our friends over at Scream Factory unveiled this super cool artwork for their upcoming Motel Hell Blu-ray, set for release on August 12th. Full details for the release haven’t yet been announced, though we do know that the artwork will be reversible, with the film’s original poster art on the opposite side.

Pet Sematary

California’s Hero Complex Gallery is currently playing host to a Stephen King art tribute titled ‘King for a Day,’ which kicked off a couple weeks ago and comes to a close this weekend. One of my favorites pieces of art from the exhibit is this Pet Sematary poster by Matthew Johnson, which just might be my favorite fan-made Pet Sematary poster of all time. You can grab a print over on Hero Complex Gallery’s website, and there’s also a turquoise variant available.

Michael Berryman

And finally, we wrap things up this week with a totally random picture that made me smile, which was tweeted out the other day by Bill Moseley. Yes, that is indeed Hills Have Eyes/Devil’s Rejects star Michael Berryman hanging out in a pool, and I hope this glorious picture amuses you as much as it amuses me. Gotta love Berryman!
