Mark your calendars for April 3rd, 2020!
Of all the Resident Evil remakes that have been coming out, it was always RE3 that I wanted the most. One word:
Nemesis
Among all the most terrifying monsters throughout the Resident Evil franchise, to me, Nemesis is hands-down, the scariest. 20 years ago, when I played the original game on the first PlayStation, I had never experienced such dread and panic in a video game before. The way he slowly stalks you and like Frankenstein’s monster calls out “S.T.A.R.S.” sent chills down my spine.
In most encounters with him, you’re able to run away from him (and you usually should), but I had the startle of my life when I escaped from him into another room, as I’m calming down because I’m now safe, discovered that he can follow you into other rooms (a mechanic that wasn’t present in previous RE games, or video games in general because of how memory and loading used to work)!
I can’t wait to run from a modern redesign of Nemesis. Jill isn’t looking too shabby either:
