To celebrate the journey toward Halloween 2014 I’m going to do something I’ve wanted to attempt since I first started writing here on Halloween Love … put together a definitive list of my personal favorite horror movie moments and scenes.
I hope you will agree with some, maybe raise an eyebrow at others and fingers crossed a few will be pleasant surprises.
46 : Jason X 2001 : Frozen Face Smash.
When Jason Voorhees awakes after hundreds of years trapped in frozen stasis he is understandably a little pissed … So to release some stored up aggression and celebrate his return to normal service the big guy gives us a classic kill to enjoy which is probably my second favorite across the entire franchise. Poor Adrienne (Kristi Angus), gets grabbed, slammed against a window, groped a little, and finally plunged face first into a barrel of liquid nitrogen. Jason then completes his masterpiece by brutally smashing her frosty face against a work surface causing it shatter into hundreds of small blood red crystals.
Jason X is just a fun and entertaining slice of horror from start to finish. They milked the budget to ensure some decent effects made it to the screen and there are some genuinely classic kills to be found … Plus any Friday that features Kane Hodder under the mask is worthy of some love in my book.
