I think this is hands-down, the coolest fucking thing to ever happen to horror fans, period.
If you’re a big horror fan, but aren’t into video games, you should really give it a try. Video games are hardly the children’s toys they were of the past and have become quite sophisticated, adult-driven, immersible experiences.
If you like seeing zombie slaughter in movies, you should really try your hand at doing it yourself in virtual reality.
This game is available as an add-on (Escalation DLC) for Call of Duty: Black Ops: Zombies, which is a wildly popular game on Xbox and PlayStation.
It’s appropriately titled Call of the Dead…
As you can see, the game features the likeness and voice talent of some wonderful horror icons:
- Robert Englund (The definitive Freddy Krueger of Nightmare on Elm Street)
- Danny Trejo (From Rodriguez and Tarantino films)
- Michael Rooker (From The Walking Dead and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer)
- Sarah Michelle Gellar (Most notably Buffy from the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off TV show)
- With a special appearance by the man himself: George A. Romero (Night of the Living Dead — need I say more)
In the trailer (and hopefully game too) it features one of the songs from The Return of the Living Dead soundtrack, which is by far one of my most favorite zombie movies ever along with the Night of the Living Dead remake.
Listen to the song now and get pumped:
