Requests
While I don’t think any of the above fonts can be considered “official”, as I believe most of them were just recreated by fans, they’re the best versions of each that I could find. If you have recommendations for better or alternative versions of any of the listed fonts that might be worthwhile to include in the collection or if you have requests for fonts of other horror movies, TV shows, books, video games, etc., you may make those in the comments below.
For other generic spooky fonts, there’s a great collection on dafont.com to check out.
Notes
You’ll notice that Children of the Corn and Stranger Things use the same font. Technically, they’re only from the same typeface, but are different fonts within that set. In other words, they have slightly different styling.
It’s no coincidence that they’re from the same font family either. Stranger Things is a love letter to Stephen King, and while the font was used on the Children of the Corn poster, I couldn’t find that it was ever actually used anywhere else on Stephen King’s work, although the Stranger Things logo is clearly an homage to the way Stephen King’s name is often graphically presented on many of his original book release covers, most importantly IT:
Disclaimer
All copyright and trademark rights go to their respective owners. It is my good faith belief that under fair use, you’re absolutely free and welcome to use these fonts however you like for non-commercial use. Even so, and especially if you intend on using any of the fonts in a commercial capacity, I strongly recommend doing your due diligence and researching the given font and its licensing restrictions, if any.
I always do my best to be as accurate as possible, but the information contained here likely contains errors. Most of these fonts are many decades old, if not a hundred years old, and the specific details get muddy along the way very easily in the massive telephone game that is the internet.
