My Favorite Horror Movie Moments of All Time: Number 37 — The Blair Witch Project

The Blair Witch Project

To celebrate the journey toward Halloween 2014 I’m going to do something I’ve wanted to attempt since I first started writing here on Halloween Love … put together a definitive list of my personal favorite horror movie moments and scenes.

I hope you will agree with some, maybe raise an eyebrow at others and fingers crossed a few will be pleasant surprises.

The Blair Witch Project

37 : The Blair Witch Project 1999 : Heather’s Apology.

A lot of tears, a little bit of snot and an unflattering close-up resulted in Heather Donahue and her face becoming one of the most recognisable images in horror movie history. When I look back at The Blair Witch Project I see a very clever movie. Carefully marketed, subtle, creepy, and something audiences weren’t being bombarded with at that point … the dreaded found footage genre.

It loses a lot of impact after the first viewing and can almost become a chore to sit through again, but there really are some intense and scary moments to be enjoyed including this scene which I’ve never been able to forget since the first time I watched it.
