Going by IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes ratings, 5.9 and 46% respectively, most people seem to hate the new Apple TV+ sci-fi series, Invasion.
But, for the life of me, I can’t figure out why? I’ve now completed the entire first season, and the show has already been renewed for a second season. The show has high production value (apparently they spent around $200 million), the effects are great, the storytelling is compelling, the acting is good.
The only thing I can think is that it’s the age-old problem of it being “too slow?” Audiences have never been big on the slow burn, preferring a Michael Bay pace of action when it comes to epic alien invasions.
So, what is it? You tell me…
