ParticipantI love Stephen King books. I first read “The Shining” at age 12 and have been a fan ever since. What are everyone’s thoughts about “Dr. Sleep”, the SK novel that explores what happens to Danny as an adult? PLEASE, for some strange unknown reason, I haven’t had a chance to read Dr. Sleep yet, so please don’t spoil it for me. Just wanted to gauge people’s reactions in general to the new storyline for Danny. Are you satisfied with his character, are there still unanswered questions from his boyhood in “The Shining,” Does it look like there are possibly more books featuring Danny or other “The Shining” characters in the future?

KeymasterI’ve never heard of “Dr. Sleep”. Is this unofficial fan fiction or actually a direct sequel written by King himself?

ParticipantBy SK himself. Here’s a link to it on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Doctor-Sleep-Novel-Shining-Book-ebook/dp/B00A6CCF0K

KeymasterHere are some interesting anecdotes about the King/Kubrick “feud”:

My guess is that King will guard “Doctor Sleep” with his life from becoming adapted into a film, at least unless he scripts and oversees it.
