My Favorite Horror Movie Moments of All Time: Number 55 — Alien

September is upon us, summer is slowly drifting away for another year and the countdown clock that silently ticks away at the top of this very page now tells me it is only 55 days until October 31st 2014.

To celebrate the journey toward Halloween I’m going to do something I’ve wanted to attempt since I first started writing here on Halloween Love … put together a definitive list of my personal favorite horror movie moments and scenes. I hope you will agree with some, maybe raise an eyebrow at others and fingers crossed a few will be pleasant surprises.

55 : Alien 1979 : Dallas Enters The Ventilation System.

This scene has an almost overwhelming sense of impending doom surrounding it. You know Dallas is about to get wasted, it’s just a question of how and when. Ridley Scott builds the tension perfectly until it reaches a point where it’s almost unbearable to watch. Lambert starts sobbing and screaming at Dallas to “MOVE”, but frustratingly (for all of us watching at home) he simply isn’t aware of just how deadly and intelligent the Alien actually is. Then out of the darkness BAM!! The creature appears for a split second, arms outstretched …

Alien will be appearing on this list again in the near future so I’ll lavish it with praise then, but let’s just say I like this movie a LOT!
