How the Halloween Spirit Has Inspired Me Through the Years by CEC

Halloween Love is a huge inspiration to me, and I’ve always looked forward to the updates each year, and listening to their radio station. Noticed there are Creator posts and I wanted to share exactly how much Halloween has inspired me through the years, in the various art projects I’ve created. I want to share these movies, songs, music videos, feature films, with you now.

I made this music video a year ago, with AI videos, combined with a song I recorded in 2000, on an analog 4track recording device. I think you might appreciate my Horror Folk Song “Taking The Wrong Turn” by Curt Clendenin…

This one I made 10 years ago, with music my friend Eric Kleinberg and I made on an old tape recorder, with art I drew on a piece of paper to help describe the premise of an idea I’ve had for along time about “Invisible Zombies”…

This is my collaboration I’ve always wanted, with Edward Gorey. I fused his lyrics from “Gashlycrumb Tinies” into the “ABC song”, then used his exact art to make a music video. I animated his art using an old version of Adobe Premiere…

Also, this is my short film “The Day I Came Home” (a play on words from the HALLOWEEN poster). I shot it in my Brother’s house, and my Family was kind enough to act in it too! I used stock footage within my editing app, and used a filter to give it a ‘rotoscope’ vibe…

“They’ll Never Catch Us” was also made in 2000, on the same 4 track analogue recording device. Another folk horror song. This one is about two guys who break into toy stores, steal baby dolls, chop their heads off, and leave them about town. They’re priding themselves on being ‘Jack Ripperesque”…

I had the pleasure of acting in the Halloween-themed slasher feature “The Legend of Fall Creek”, as the character Reggie, which is available on Amazon, TUBI, iTunes, YouTube, etc. Robert Miano from Donnie Brasco and Jessica Morris from One Life To Live are also in it, and here it is on TUBI!

I had the pleasure of acting in the sequel, Black Pumpkin, as Alex. Matt Rife the comedian, Connor Weil from Scream the TV show, Kamilla Alnes from American Horror Story are also in it.

Also, I had the pleasure of acting in this horror movie called The Ritual House, starring Donna Spangler (from the Beverly Hills Barbie). Great premise and it’s on TUBI.

My series The Watcher of Grey Harbour, is my AI animated series. It is more Gothic than it is Horror. It’s inspired by David Lynch, Ray Bradbury, Terry Gilliam, Rod Serling, Franz Kafka, and some Poe for good measure. The Watcher character is created from my own drawings, then scanned into Sora, which then animated it into 10 second episodes. I have scheduled uploads every Sunday at 5pm PST…
