This is my first time posting, and I’m happy to join the Halloween community because I think Halloween is one of the most fun and most fascinating days of the year.
I’ve become particularly fascinated with Halloween’s pagan, Celtic roots. It wasn’t until recently that I learned that almost all of the traditions that I grew up with as a child have their roots in the pre-Christian, Celtic celebration of Samhain (or Samhuinn in Scots-Gaelic). Pronounced “sow-in”, Samhain is the reason why we carve pumpkins and why witches, evil spirits, and all things scary are part of Halloween culture.
I have an online t shirt shop that features all of my own original art work. It’s all Celtic and Nordic themed, so Samhain is a big time of year considering it’s Celtic roots. I’ve tried to create some edgy artwork that pays homage to the Celtic roots of Halloween. Please take a look (link below). Fans of Halloween are sure to appreciate it!
