The title cards just seemed like a pretentious little touch, to me. Totally lame. And yea, I agree about there never being much of a threat, for the characters. Kept asking myself ‘why don’t they just run out of the house and get help?’ In The Strangers, the characters were in the middle of nowhere, and were therefore beyond help. In this one, it just didn’t make sense that they stayed inside their houses.

There was just so much bland exposition and missed opportunities. These people are filming under what is supposedly a huge threat yet nothing too crazy ever happens to them throughout. A knock on the door here, a tap there…I’m all for minimalist scares, but I don’t think this movie is aware of just how uneventful it is. Also, why was every segment separated by title cards, only to lead into the same exact settings? Time fillers? Bizarre.
