Thanks for reading and commenting, Stevie. I love Rob Zombie, I just wish he had spent his time making two more of his own movies, rather than Halloween & Halloween 2. He’s too good to be remaking someone else’s work. Halloween wasn’t a complete fail, but it just didn’t really work for me.

As for Black Christmas, I think a big part of being a horror fan is being able to recognize that a movie isn’t very good, but still loving it. Truth be told, a lot of my favorite horror movies – like Ice Cream Man – are pretty damn bad!

Trolls will be trolls. I’ve learned to just make peace with comments like that and let them roll off my back.

ANOES…now that was truly terrible. And not fun. But I do enjoy some of the mood and setting, even so.

Also, I like what you said about Black Christmas here. It’s not noted often enough nowadays that bad horror movies can still be fun. We knew that growing up, but it seems like we’ve gotten to a point of cynical disdain for anything that doesn’t land right where it should.

Haha. Fair enough. It’s not that I “can’t tell” it’s a prequel. Yes, it is technically a prequel, in that it centers on the events PRIOR to Carpenter’s movie. But really, it was just a clever (and smart) way to remake The Thing, without actually remaking it. And I don’t fault the film for that, but let’s call a spade a spade.
