I don’t think they are prototypes, but they are part of the various types of torture that Freddy did with the children he took and tied them to. I think they tortured them for days and that’s really scary.

In reply to Randy Meyer. the glove in NOES is not the same as the one in part 3 the original glove was lost or stolen during filming for part 2, which makes little sense as they actually had 3, 2 stunt gloves and a real one .. so what happened to the stunt gloves

I always found the progression of the glove interesting. It shows how the mind works, even if it is a little twisted. I just wish the first one (from NOES 1- 3) was recovered and returned to New Line. That glove deserves to be in the Smithsonian, or a similar place, for display. What I can remember, according to reports in Fangoria at that time, the original glove was stolen from the set of Dream Warriors. That is why the glove looks different in the sequels after that. Same thing happened with Jason’s mask. But, at least those “fans” felt guilty and returned it.
