If you have a cup of coffee or beer and are standing there talking over the table, the attention will not be on you, but on the cup and what will happen when you get jostled from behind. Also, most kids are just great, and curious. When they reach for or start playing with something that’s breakable, make sure you can afford it.
Most guests enjoy conversation, but as you say, can you think of some new discussion that will perk them up? As a former news reporter and magazine editor, the same applies with any interview. Know your subject, know your topic, assume it may be your only chance to meet that person and have a unique experience! Great job, m’lady!
