For the record, Ed Justin’s original poem had nothing to do with either demons or revenge. It was about a generic boogieman who will getcha no matter where you hide. The demon of revenge angle came out of stories/aborted amateur films my old writing buddy Mark Carducci and I came up with in the ’70s, “Seven Gargoyles of Satan” and “Hell Mountain.” BTW, in addition to co-writing the PUMPKINHEAD screenplay, I also wrote and edited the Topps Fright Flicks card series… and yes, VENGEANCE THE DEMON pops up as the film’s title. Another title bandied about by DEG (worst of the lot) was DEMON’S REVENGE. Best regards, Gary Gerani
