I blame that time period for a lot of things. Shoulder pads and neon splashes of color being two of the biggest offenders.

I’m not into “Saw,” either. As for Freddy, I found it weird that people embraced a child molester as an anti-hero. I know that was sort of dropped from later films, but that’s what he was.
