Hey, I’m not sure if you should bother. I converted and burned that YouTube version to DVD and watched it this morning. While it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever seen, my mind definitely painted it a much rosier color than it actually was. The first half is VERY slow. Nothing much happens. It does pick up a bit after that. I won’t give away any spoilers in case you still want to watch it. Just know that you were warned! (The film is set in Alabama. Isn’t that where you live?)

Yeah, I’m not sure what I was expecting from Baskin but I appreciate the style and direction. I honestly think this director would be perfect for a Hellraiser remake. That said, the eyeball moment made me scream just an teenie bit.

I’m sure the copy I have looks like shit as well…most of them do. Maybe I’ll give it a watch this week. Do you think it would qualify as a monster movie?

Honestly I haven’t seen the whole movie in thirty years. I remember loving it as a kid. I found it on YouTube, and watched some of it, but it is very poor quality. I have been on the lookout for it to come out on DVD for many years, but it never has. It probably sucks, but for nostalgia’s sake, I’d love to get a hold of it. It has three things I like: two actors from Star Trek, zombies, and the zombies are Confederate (I’m a big Civil War buff). I can’t really say I’d recommend it, because I’m sure you know how time can color your memory when it comes to movies and TV.

I think you may enjoy Elvira. It’s got a tongue in cheek vibe similar to those two, but it’s not really horror…just horror adjacent.

BASKIN was a big disappointment. the spider scene had me screaming/jumping out of my chair though. LOL.
