That’s the thing. A spoof can be really funny, when done right. These horror spoofs are just so poorly done. So lazy. So unfunny. With a little effort, maybe they wouldn’t be so intolerable!

Going beyond horror spoofs, I think the last genuinely funny and creative spoof in general was probably Loaded Weapon. It lampooned countless movies, but it still followed its own plot and was more about making fun of the genre’s conventions, rather than just spoofing scenes from random movies that were illogically strung together.
