My Favorite Horror Movie Moments of All Time: Number 45 — An American Werewolf in London

An American Werewolf In London

To celebrate the journey toward Halloween 2014 I’m going to do something I’ve wanted to attempt since I first started writing here on Halloween Love … put together a definitive list of my personal favorite horror movie moments and scenes.

I hope you will agree with some, maybe raise an eyebrow at others and fingers crossed a few will be pleasant surprises.

An American Werewolf In London

45 : An American Werewolf In London 1981 : Jack’s Warning.

Today we remember the brilliantly creepy moment where Jack (Griffin Dunn), appears to David (David Naughton), from beyond the grave and explains to him that werewolves, curses, the afterlife and ghosts are all very real. This scene is only about three minutes long, but thanks to some wonderful dialogue and Jack’s rapid switch from playful jokes to serious warnings it sets up the second half of the movie perfectly.

Oh, and Rick Baker’s legendary effects work just seems to look better with age.
